the giving tree

“Pick” a name off the tree and help someone in need.

This year SPES has partnered with Annapolis Elementary to provide small gifts for children.  There are two ways to help.

Pick up a bag off the giving tree in the Atrium of the school.

Pick a child HERE.

For those who sign up online, we will coordinate bags to will be sent home with your child or picked up from Mrs. McCord's office.

Gifts should be between $10-20 and be able to fit in the bag so the receiving children can take them home in their backpacks.

Feel free to have your child get into the spirit and decorate the bag.

All bags must be returned to the atrium by end of day Friday December 17.

If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. McCord

SPES teacher's favorites

Whether you’re searching for a holiday gift for your child’s teacher, or if you’d just like to show your child’s teacher some love throughout the year, these lists are a good place to start.
Below are the links to Google docs for both Amazon Wish Lists and Favorites Lists for each classroom and cultural arts teacher.
Please note: teacher information will be added as it is received by the PTA. If your teacher’s info is not yet listed, just check back in again at a later date.

Sneak a peek

Sneak a Peek may have been cancelled due to weather, but you can still get to know your teacher, see the class schedule, and learn teacher expectations.  Get even more information from Cultural Arts, Support Staff, and Principal Barnes too.

Check back for more information on Back to School night.  See you all on September 8th!

Should I look at my 3rd grader's Google Classroom and check for missing assignments everyday? Do I need to sit next to my 1st grader all day while she is in her Google Meet to make sure she is paying attention to the teacher? How much time in the evening, and over the weekend, should my 5th grader be spending on completing his schoolwork? We all want to support our children so that they are successful at virtual learning, but are we actually helping? These questions were addressed at the recent SPES PTA Parent Workshop "How to Support Your Elementary Child During Virtual Learning".  If you missed it, don't worry, we recorded it and you can watch it at
