variety show

Step right up and get ready to witness the greatest show on earth.  Yes, it is that time of year once again for our SPES children to show off their myriad of talents.  Truly this is a VARIETY Show. Obviously this year's Variety Show has to be done quite differently than usual. The committee has decided to give students the opportunity to record an act and submit it to be compiled into this year's virtual show. We will take all of the acts and compile them into one video file that will be available in all Google Classroom Homerooms on Friday, June 4th at 6:30 p.m.  Video Submissions are due by May 17th.  Check out the Variety Show page for more information!

In honor of Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month, the PTA, in collaboration with SPES school counselor, Mrs. McCord, and SPES school psychologist, Mrs. Jones, hosted another Parent Workshop - “I want to be inclusive, but I don’t know how” – A glimpse into what it is like to raise an autistic child.

Need to explain autism to children?  The video below is a great way to start the conversation.

parent workshop video posted

Should I look at my 3rd grader's Google Classroom and check for missing assignments everyday? Do I need to sit next to my 1st grader all day while she is in her Google Meet to make sure she is paying attention to the teacher? How much time in the evening, and over the weekend, should my 5th grader be spending on completing his schoolwork? We all want to support our children so that they are successful at virtual learning, but are we actually helping? These questions were addressed at the recent SPES PTA Parent Workshop "How to Support Your Elementary Child During Virtual Learning".  If you missed it, don't worry, we recorded it and you can watch it at

pta offering directory for free
