Membership Drive

Our fundraising from the Invest Drive is down $10,000 from pre-pandemic levels.  The good news is that we can still recover and continue to provide support for our students, teachers, faculty, and school facilities if more families join and make a tax-deductible donation to the PTA's Invest Drive.  Without additional support, we may not be able to offer fun programs this school year such as the Spring Fair, Boys' and Girls' events, and EEP clubs like chess, STEM, and the art club.

How can you help?

Join the PTA and Invest in Your Child

So far this year, your PTA funds have:

  • Purchased HEPA air purifiers for every room (not covered w/ CARES Act funds) to help keep our students and teachers healthy and in the classroom. ($10,000)
  • Provided Amazon gift cards for every teacher to purchase classroom supplies. ($2,800)
  • Bought soccer goals for recess and scooters for PE to keep activity levels up. ($2,000)
  • Paid for the agenda books to help your students stay organized. ($1,700)
  • Enabled the volunteer-run Chessie program to help advance reading. ($200)
  • Organized activities like Spirit Wear sales and Bike/Walk-to-School Day to increase school pride and focus on wellness. ($3,000)
  • Planted 33 trees in the play area to provide much-needed shade as well as environmental benefit in the form of habitat and stormwater reduction. ($600)

Already joined the SPES PTA and Invest in Your Child campaign?  You can still help.  Make a tax-deductible donation.  Any amount helps!

THANK YOU!

Your generosity helped spread the holiday spirit with 99 gift bags being delivered to Annapolis Elementary.

ALL bags were "picked" from the tree.

“Pick” a name off the tree and help someone in need.

This year SPES has partnered with Annapolis Elementary to provide small gifts for children.  There are two ways to help.

Pick up a bag off the giving tree in the Atrium of the school.

or

Pick a child HERE.

For those who sign up online, we will coordinate bags to will be sent home with your child or picked up from Mrs. McCord's office.

Gifts should be between $10-20 and be able to fit in the bag so the receiving children can take them home in their backpacks.

Feel free to have your child get into the spirit and decorate the bag.

All bags must be returned to the atrium by end of day Friday December 17.

parent workshop video posted

Should I look at my 3rd grader's Google Classroom and check for missing assignments everyday? Do I need to sit next to my 1st grader all day while she is in her Google Meet to make sure she is paying attention to the teacher? How much time in the evening, and over the weekend, should my 5th grader be spending on completing his schoolwork? We all want to support our children so that they are successful at virtual learning, but are we actually helping? These questions were addressed at the recent SPES PTA Parent Workshop "How to Support Your Elementary Child During Virtual Learning".  If you missed it, don't worry, we recorded it and you can watch it at https://youtu.be/bID740bnqOQ.
